The Power Of Words
Words have the ability to inspire, motivate , uplift and empower us as human beings. So too on the other hand they have the power to disempower us, impact self -esteem and lower expectations.
For most of us words are spoken without consciousness. What we do not realise is that what we say to others creates a ripple effect in the world. Everything that we speak is creating our current reality whether that be positive or negative.
Have a think to yourself, how have you spoken to the people in your life over the last twenty four hours. Have your words uplifted them, have they affirmed that person’s worth, have they inspired or motivated them to improve their current situation. How have you spoken to your spouse, or your children?
Often we use words in a damaging way without realising it. To be conscious of our thoughts and what we say can have an enormous impact on our own lives and those around us.
The power of words can not be overrated. Think of the two words, problem or challenge. what images do these two words conjure up in your mind. Both of these words arouse an emotion. The language is powerful. I would much rather have a challenge than a problem in my business, as I perceive a challenge as being something that can easily be resolved by accessing the right information or skill set.
Successful people have mastered the use of language, they are conscious of the thoughts they think and the words they speak. They are conscious of the fact that the words that they speak need to build self esteem and confidence, build relationships, and build dreams.
Masaru Emoto is a Japanese author and entrepreneur known for his claim that if human speech or thoughts are directed at water droplets before they are frozen, images of the resulting water crystals will be “beautiful” or “ugly” depending upon whether the words or thoughts were positive or negative. Emoto claims this can be achieved through prayer, music or by attaching written words to a container of water.
When the words “thank you” were taped to a bottle of distilled water, the frozen crystals had a similar shape to the crystals formed by water that had been exposed to Bach’s “Goldberg Variations”- music composed out of gratitude to the man it was named for.
When water samples were bombarded with heavy metal music or labeled with negative words, or when negative thoughts and emotions were focused intentionally upon them, such as “Adolf Hitler”, the water did not form crystals at all and displayed chaotic, fragmented structures.
See the video below to see the results of his powerful experiment
If thoughts and words can so radically change water molecules, then what must they be doing to us?
Up to 60 percent of our bodies is made up of water, so choose your words wisely and be aware of the impact that they have in the world.
Here are some tips from Jack Canfield on how to speak powerfully and with Impeccability
- Make a commitment to be impeccable in your speech when talking to others
- Make an effort to appreciate something about every person you interact with
- Make a committment to tell the truth.
- Make it the intention of every interaction to uplift them in some way. Notice how you feel when you do it.
