Twitter- Tips And Tricks To Getting It Right On Twitter

If you are a newbie on twitter and don’t know where to start, or if you have been using twitter for a while for business but feel like you are fumbling in the dark, then here are some tips for you to make the most of your twitter time.
1. Be Intentional- Well what I mean by this is, get followers that have the same interests as you. There is no point following people who are interested in art if you are interested in real estate. When you are looking for people to follow you can go to gurus in your niche and start to follow their followers. You can also do keyword searches for your niche.
2. Be personable – Have an attractive photo of yourself where you are SMILING, this is a really basic little tip but it can really help you to be magnetic. Let your bio be authentic and truly reflect your personality.
3. Create a presence on twitter, tweet at least 5-10 times a day. Also try to spread these tweets out over the day so that you are reaching people in other time zones to yourself. There are great automated tools that you can use for eg www.socialoomph.com to send automated direct messages to people as well as schedule your tweets.
4. Offer value- Make sure you are not spamming people with your affiliate links as this is one way to get people unfollowing you really FAST. Provide tweets that are interesting, educational and funny. Some great sites to find content are www.popurls.com, www.stufftotweet.com, and www.cracked.com. Mix it up, don’t be known as the quote girl. Find valuable content to tweet for your niche market by linking to other blogs.
5. Engage People- Communicate with your followers, answer peoples questions, retweet their stuff. If you are automating a lot of your tweets, make sure that you actually get on and interact with people at least once per day, ideally twice. Reply to mentions and direct messages and ask open ended questions. Make sure that you tweet with other power twitter users to become viewed as a centre of influence.
6. Automated messages- absolutely do NOT send people automated messages with links to your business opportunity.

Great twitter tips! If done right twitter can be a Great Asset. I think the biggest thing is what you said about not spamming others. Find people with similar interests and build relationships.
